One composite score for the whole situation a child is actually growing up in

Food security, whether school loses out to the harvest, and whether a shock arrives as a warning or a surprise: three questions that usually live in three different systems. This one combines them into a single explainable score, grounded in real household signals and a live weather feed, built to route support toward a household.

What Defines It
Composite, Not Siloed

Food security, school continuity and climate exposure are usually scored by three different programmes that never talk to each other. Here they are one record, so nobody falls through the gap between them.

Never Punitive

The score routes outreach toward a household; it never removes a household from a programme, flags a family to any authority, or substitutes for a caseworker's judgment. A low score means "check on this household sooner," nothing else.

Grounded, Not Guessed

Thresholds are set with local county and school level partners, not imported wholesale from another context, and the climate module is anchored to a live public feed rather than a static assumption.

How It Works

Three modules, one number a partner can act on the same day

Every household record already inside AgriKonnekt carries the signals this index needs. Nothing new to collect, just a different lens on data the system already has consent to see.

Three modules score independently

Food & nutrition security, school continuity & child labour risk, and climate shock exposure each produce their own sub score, four signals apiece, so no single weak signal can quietly sink the whole picture.

The climate module reads live weather

Rainfall and temperature for the household's county are pulled from a public weather feed in real time, not a seasonal average, so the score moves with the actual sky overhead.

A partner routes support, not a verdict

A school, county office, or NGO partner sees the composite and all three sub scores, and decides where a home visit, a bursary application, or an early alert is most useful this week.

A score about a child carries a higher bar, not a lower one

Never A Denial Mechanism

The index cannot be used to remove a household from aid, insurance, or any programme. It exists only to prioritise attention toward a household, never to withdraw it.

Minimised Child Data

No child is named, tracked individually, or profiled. Every signal is scored at the household level, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Community Set Thresholds

Tier boundaries are reviewed with local school and county partners who understand the season on the ground, not fixed once by an engineer far from it.

Opt Out Anytime

A household can pause or leave scoring entirely with a single request. Nothing about their access to any AgriKonnekt system depends on staying scored.

Demo Mode — Not Production Validated

The sliders, weights and tier thresholds (Fragile / Stabilizing / Resilient) below are simplified, illustrative logic built to show how a composite child resilience score could work. They have not been validated against real nutrition, school attendance or shock recovery outcomes on the ground, and the county tier boundaries have not yet been reviewed with local school or county partners. Only the weather readings feeding the climate module are genuinely live. This is a working prototype presented as exactly that, not a scored or deployed system.
